Day 14! Today finishes up the first 2 weeks. Let's keep pressing in deeper and give ourselves to God today and for another 7 days. Today's devo should challenge us as we look at how impactful the Bible is in history.

Day 13! Today we will focus on studying the word. Yes, it is good to read our Bibles, but we must dive deeper and study it. Remember the study of the written word is us studying the Word or Jesus!

I remember a few years ago on the Bible app there a lot of people who decided on Jan 1 they would start a plan to read the Bible in a year. I was one of them. I was so excited. I committed to it and finished. While it was a goal I had met, I remember another feeling I had not only at the end but throughout. I felt it wasnt for me and I wasn’t absorbing anything, yet I kept rushing through to accomplish what I had started. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in. It would have been way more beneficial for me to stop the plan and focus on just a tiny amount. God knows us. I have to read and reread just one verse most times to understand it, and thats okay! I use to look at it as a flaw, but now I don’t. I use it to my advantage. Is my memory great? No, but remember God also knows the intent of our heart so He knows if you want to know Him, who He is and what His word is really about or if it’s just something you’re doing out of obligation. I will never stop trying and asking for wisdom and understanding! ❤️

Day 12! Here is the devo for today. Sorry for the dely we had some technical issues. If you tried to read it before and could not, now you should be able to.

I love how you put this. There is so much truth to it. If we believe like we proclaim to, we must submit to Him and His word- all of it. After all, it seems absurd not to if you really think about it. Well said!

As I read today's devo I really enjoyed the two pictures of the swiss army knife and the fencing. The swiss army knife example stuck out the most. It made me think about the scripture in Hebrews which also says the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Thinking within the swiss army knife context, the sword or Word has multiple uses. Not only is it a tool of defense and attack against an enemy, but it is also a tool we use to help ourselves. Sometimes some things need cut off of us. Sometimes there is soul surgery that needs to be done and as we look…

I thought about todays message most of the day as “words” are something Holy Spirit has highlighted for quite some time. Isaiah 55 was immediately placed on my heart today as I am reminded how important words are and every word spoken is a “seed” - words will produce something (life or death / blessing or curse). It very important to consider what we are releasing over ourselves and others. Just as God’s word does not return empty but accomplishes what it meant to accomplish, so do words that are released from us. Always consider the intention of the words being released to others and over self. ““For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Day 9! Here is today's devo. Let the word be our guide, not only today but every day of our lives.
